Set on 4 acres along the salty shores of Mill Cove, this Carol A Wilson designed contemporary quietly rises from the forest floor with an indigenous sensitivity. Clad in weathered shingles, this elegant design compliments its setting while providing an exceptionally functional floor plan. Tall, south-facing walls of glass celebrate the gardens, the change of seasons and the wooded glen setting. The views of the ever-changing tidal waters are framed with a band of north-facing windows. The two story glass entrance foyer draws the eye right through the house to the water's edge. Convivial open living space encourages gathering in the kitchen, settling down to a holiday meal in the dining area and still allows plenty of room to watch the Big Game in the living room. The first floor also offers double studies/offices with floor to ceiling bookcases as well as two ensuite bedrooms on the first floor. Upstairs are additional bedrooms, as well as a primary/guest suite with full private bath. In addition to the attached 2 car garage, there is a custom post and beam 3 car garage including a second floor space - ideal for finishing as a studio, woodworking space or additional storage. Architect Carol A. Wilson's values as a world citizen and Maine resident come through this exceptional execution of simplicity. The home reflects that people matter, their daily habits matter, the environment matters, materials and sustainability matter, simplicity and integrity matter. In a world full of excess, this home offers a respite from the chaos, restores the soul and heals the heart. Call for your private showing today.
