Meet Victoria Condon: The Heart Behind Dwelling in Maine
Celebrating a Leader Who Puts Community First
If you’ve spent any time around Dwelling in Maine, you know there’s something special about the way this boutique brokerage operates. At the heart of it all is Victoria Condon—owner, broker, founder, and the kind of leader who builds not just a business, but a community.
From the very beginning, Victoria envisioned Dwelling in Maine as something more than a traditional real estate company. It would be rooted in Maine values—supporting local jobs, celebrating lifestyle over hustle, and helping people find homes where they could truly dwell. Over the years, she’s made good on that vision, growing a close-knit team of thoughtful, place-focused agents and creating a culture where collaboration and care take priority.
Whether she’s mentoring new agents, showing up for her neighbors, or highlighting the unique character of Maine towns, Victoria’s love for this place is always front and center. She leads with heart—and it shows.

A Quick Q&A with Victoria
We caught up with Victoria to ask a few questions about what drives her, what inspires her, and how Dwelling in Maine continues to evolve.
1. What inspired you to start your own brokerage, and why was it important to do it here in Maine?
When I opened the brokerage, I saw too many companies focused on how many transactions they could rack up, with awards for top producers and constant pressure for production. That model didn’t align with my “people first” philosophy—whether that’s the clients we serve or the agents who choose to work here. I wanted a place where supporting agents was the first priority, not just adding people to the roster for numbers. I love to train, coach, and mentor—when my agents succeed, it’s full circle for me. And as for Maine—this is home. I love the lifestyle here, so why would I choose anywhere else?
2. How do you think real estate can serve a community beyond just buying and selling homes?
When it’s done right, real estate is about more than a single transaction. It’s about relationships—being a trusted resource before, during, and long after closing. That might mean connecting people with the right contractor, helping a new resident feel at home, or supporting community initiatives. Many people don’t realize how much REALTORS give back. Fundraising, volunteering, and advocating for affordable housing are just a few ways we help strengthen the places we live and work.
3. What do you love most about the Maine lifestyle—and how does that show up in your work?
Maine offers the perfect blend of natural beauty and community spirit. From our harbors and working waterfronts to our hiking trails and small-town charm, it’s a lifestyle that draws people here for more than just a job—it’s about quality of life. My work is deeply tied to that. I share local knowledge, favorite spots, and community connections so clients can feel at home here, not just buy a house.
4. What's one thing you're especially proud of in the journey so far?
I’m proud to have launched this company nearly a decade ago and to have created a space where talented agents can thrive in a slightly different way than the traditional brokerage model. We’ve stayed true to our values, grown thoughtfully, and built a team that genuinely cares for their clients and community.
5. What advice would you give to someone just starting out in Maine real estate?
This business isn’t really about houses—it’s about people. If you enjoy talking with others, building relationships, and finding creative solutions, you’ll do well. Looking at listing photos or bingeing HGTV might spark interest, but it’s your ability to connect and serve that will make you successful here.
6. How do you see Dwelling in Maine growing or evolving in the years to come?
Thoughtfully, and always with people first. Some agents and clients think “boutique” means limited service—but for us, it means more, plus highly personalized service. We add new and experienced agents only when the fit is right, never through head hunting. Many join after seeing our support, our consistent and slightly different advertising, and the way we highlight their strengths—resulting in professionals our community can truly count on.
For clients, growth means a better experience at every step—clearer communication, a robust service menu from pre-listing prep and vendor coordination to post-closing check-ins, and local insight you can actually use. For agents, it means steady training, coaching, and marketing that help them serve clients at the highest level. For our community, it means continued volunteer work and support for housing solutions so more people can love where they dwell.
Victoria’s work is a reminder that real estate isn’t just about transactions—it’s about people, place, and purpose. Through Dwelling in Maine, she’s created something lasting: a business that puts down real roots, uplifts others, and reflects the beauty and integrity of the state she calls home. Whether you're buying, selling, or just dreaming about a slower, more intentional way of life, Victoria and her team are here to help you find your place—and love where you dwell.
