Victoria Condon, Principal and Designated Broker of Dwelling in Maine in Camden, has been named the 2026 REALTOR of the Year by the PenBay Council of the Midcoast Board of REALTORS. The award recognizes REALTOR spirit, service to the association at the local, state and national level, and volunteerism in the community.
That is the official version. Here is the personal one.
I am not someone who loves to talk about awards. Ask my husband. Ask anyone I have served with on a committee. My instinct is to say thank you, put the plaque somewhere quiet, and get back to work. But a few people whose judgment I trust told me this one deserves more than that, so I am writing this post.
What is the REALTOR of the Year award?
REALTOR of the Year is a peer nominated honor given by the PenBay Council of the Midcoast Board of REALTORS. It is not based on sales production. It recognizes REALTOR spirit, service to the REALTOR organization at every level, and volunteer work in the community. That distinction is exactly why this one means something to me. It is not about numbers. It is about how you show up.
Who does this award actually belong to?
Here is the honest truth about recognition like this: nobody earns it alone.
It reflects my colleagues in Midcoast Maine real estate, agents and brokers who make this a place where competitors can also be friends, where a tough transaction gets worked out over a phone call instead of a standoff, and where we all understand that our reputation as a profession is only as good as how we treat each other and the public.
It reflects the work I care most deeply about: service to the REALTOR organization itself. I have served at the local level here on the Midcoast, at the state level with the Maine Association of REALTORS, where I am honored to serve as 2026 First Vice President, and at the national level on the National Association of REALTORS Board of Directors and committees. That path continues, and I am humbled to be in line to serve as president of the Maine Association of REALTORS in 2028. Alongside me every step have been volunteers who give up evenings and weekends to work on the unglamorous things that protect homeownership and private property rights in Maine and across the country.
And it reflects this community. Midcoast Maine is where I have built my life, my brokerage, and every relationship that matters to me professionally. Volunteering here has never felt like service. It has felt like being a neighbor.
Why I decided to share this news
I have been a licensed Maine real estate broker since 2003 and founded Dwelling in Maine in Camden in 2015 with a simple idea: do honest work, tell clients the truth even when it is not what they hoped to hear, and stay involved in the profession beyond your own transactions.
If this award says anything, I hope it says that approach works. Not just for me, but as a model for what this industry can be. That is the version of the story worth telling, and it is the reason I finally agreed to write this post.
To the PenBay Council, thank you. To my clients, colleagues, family and friends, this belongs to you as much as it does to me.
Now, back to work.
